Originally from Leicester, Toms background is in research. This resulted in him achieving a PhD in tissue engineering before gaining his dental qualification at Leeds University. He joined the Purely Dental team in 2019, where he has committed to providing general dentistry with honesty, quality and value.
As well as being a certified Invisalign provider, Tom has also undertaken further advanced restorative training to help provide the smile you deserve. This included completing an advanced certificate in restorative dentistry under the tutor-age of Dominic Hassall as well as completing certification in digital smile design, Smilefast and Bioclear composite bonding systems.
Tom has a natural enthusiasm for endodontics (root canal treatment) and has gone on to take further training in endodontics through the highly regarded Simplyendo training academy. He has since been awarded a diploma with merit and accepts external referrals.
Tom is a member of the British Endodontic Society and also an Associate fellow at the College of General Dentistry.
Tom’s main interest is digital dentistry, continually looking at new techniques to improve the ease and comfort in which treatment is provided.
Outside of dentistry, Tom is a husband and father of two beautiful girls and he enjoys taking walks in the local Yorkshire countryside.
Mihaela has a passion for preventative dentistry, creating perfect smiles with orthodontics and changing anxious patients outlook on dentistry. She prides herself in keeping up to date with modern dentistry techniques and applying those techniques to the benefit of her clients comfort and oral hygiene.
Mika got married in July 2015 and lives in York with her husband who is an engineer. When not at work Mika likes to engross herself in science fiction dramas and is an avid watcher of Game of Thrones and The Vikings, in addition she also likes reading sci-fi books.
Harminder qualified from the University of Birmingham with a BDS Honours degree, and has since built an abundance of experience and further knowledge completing a PG Diploma in Advanced Aesthetic Restorative Dentistry, keeping her skills up to date providing treatment with the latest techniques and equipment.
Harminder enjoys providing general dentistry and working with anxious patients putting them at ease and providing patients with a pleasant and relaxed dental visit. While working at Bridge Street, Dr Kaur is also currently undertaking a Postgraduate Diploma in Aligner Orthodontics in London, to provide a unique service to all of her patients and aims to cater to all their individual needs.
In her spare time Harminder enjoys keeping healthy in the gym and loves travelling around the world experiencing new cultures and meeting new people. Dr Kaur looks forward to welcoming you to the dental practice.
Kath started her career in dentistry as a Dental Nurse in 1985 and qualified as a Dental Hygienist in Manchester in 1991. Kath then moved to the area and married a local farmer in 1996. They now have 3 adult children, 3 dogs, a herd of cows, a flock of sheep, and some arable land which keeps her husband and son busy. In her spare time, she enjoys country walks with the dogs, diving into art projects and loves all things Harry Potter!
Professionally Kath has a deep passion for her work and has a particular interest in non-surgical treatment of advanced periodontal disease, she has a calming effect on nervous patients, and likes to work with patients planning to undergo complex restorative work and implants to ensure long term health and stability of the investment.
Kath has invested heavily in her professional and personal development and is currently studying a postgraduate diploma in periodontics. She is a member of the British Society of Periodontology, British Society of Dental Hygienists and Therapists, and is an Associate Member of the College of Dentistry.
Sam has worked in healthcare for over 10 years, and now enjoys working across both our practices in York and Driffield.
Sam moved from West Sussex to Leeds, to peruse a career in dentistry, and to complete her studies at Leeds Dental Institute. She finds working as a dental hygienist very rewarding, and feels lucky to have found such lovely, friendly practices to work in after qualifying. Sam likes to take a gentle and caring approach to patient care, and enjoys helping patients to feel at ease, in order to achieve their best level of oral health.
When not working Sam likes to go on adventures with her dog Baxter (getting taken for a walk by the dog!). She loves spending time with friends and family, and would also like to travel more and visit new places.
Sara first joined the team in 2017 as a 3D Lipo therapist running the skin clinic. In 2022 she decided to have a change of career, remaining with the team she has now become a trainee dental nurse. She has embraced the challenge of retraining and is enjoying her new role. Sara is a mum of two boys who are her biggest achievement. Outside of work she mostly enjoys walking with her cocker spaniel “Sammie” and socialising with friends.
Mia qualified as a Dental Nurse in January 2017, and has been a valued member of the Bridge Street team since November 2017. Since then, Mia has completed her L4 Practice management course, qualifying in 2022, and also IPC lead course. Mia enjoys the aesthetic side of dentistry, however her favourite treatment to nurse for is anything orthodontics. Mia has a 6 year old son named Arthur, and they love nothing more than spending time together, meeting up with their friends and spending time with family.
Lauren has been a Dental Nurse since 2015 and joined the Bridge Street team in 2021. She has a range of experience in cosmetic and restorative dentistry. Lauren enjoys how diverse being a dental nurse is and conversing with patients.
Helping to give people their confidence back with their dream smile is her favourite part of the job!
Lauren married her husband Ross in May 2023 and then had their son Finan in February 2024.
Outside of work, Lauren loves spending time with her family, travelling the world, especially Disneyland, and eating good food!!
Kelly qualified as a dental nurse in 2009 and her favourite part of the job is working with our younger patients. Kelly prides herself on making them feel comfortable and confident in the dental chair. Outside of work Kelly enjoys going on walks with her two dogs Luna & Tilly. Kelly also enjoys spending time outdoors and has her very own veg patch which she looks after with her son Bodhi. Kelly also enjoys spa days and girlie lunch dates whenever possible!
